Product information
Basis is a systemic herbicide with a broad spectrum of dicotyledonous weed control and annual monocotyledonous weeds, rising at the time of treatment.
Treated plants: Corn
Combat weeds: Common windgrass, Wild oat
Basis is a systemic herbicide with a broad spectrum of dicotyledonous weed control and annual monocotyledonous weeds, rising at the time of treatment. It is mainly absorbed through the leaves and translocated into plant growth tissues, where it inhibits cell division by acting on the enzyme acetolactate synthase. Growth in sensitive weeds is stopped within a few hours after application. However, clear symptoms occur after several days, and weed's death occurs after 2-3 weeks. Smaller weeds and those at a more advanced stage of growth stop growing and no longer compete with the culture plant for water and nutrients. Under heat and humidity, the activity of the herbicide is faster, while low temperature and drought conditions delay the effect. Basis has a reduced persistence in the soil.
How to use it:
Basis effectively combats most dicotyledonous weeds and annual monocotyledonous weeds. It is applied postemergently to corn up to the phase of 2-5 leaves, in one treatment, or up to 2 applications / year. The product is more effective in weed growth phases. In the case of annual grass weeds it is recommended to apply from sunrise to the phase of 1-3 leaves, and for the dicotyledonous ones from the sunrise to the phase of 2-4 leaves. If the treatment is done when the weeds are in a more advanced stage of growth than the ones mentioned above, the result may be incomplete combat. Basis is effective if the first rain occurs at least 4 hours after treatment. If it rains less than 4 hours after treatment, the effect may diminish.
Recommended dose: 20 g / ha Basis + Trend 0.1% (sulphate); 20 g / ha + atrazine 1 kg bw / ha or 0.8 kg / ha terbuthylazine active substance + 0.1% trend.
Usage Restrictions:
- do not use Basis in crops other than corn
- Basis is selective for grain and forage corn. Do not use on parental lines grown for the production of seed, for popcorn and for sugar. Basis can be applied to all homologated hybrids if the application time is observed, but it is recommended to consult the supplier or seed producer.
- If a corn crop is to be treated with an organophosphorus insecticide, ensure a 14-day interval between the treatment with this insecticide (all methods of application) and the use of the herbicide Basis. It does not interact with pyrethroids and carbamide insecticides.
- do not apply to crops that suffer from stress as a result of drought, water piling, insect attack, frost, nutrition deficiency, etc.
- do not apply to a culture watered by dew or rain
- If the temperature during the night before application drops below 10 ° or a temperature above 25 ° is expected on the day of treatment or the next day, then Basis is deferred.
- Mechanical cultivation is allowed after at least two weeks after application of Basis.
