Product information
Kelvin Top is a professional nicosulfuron-based herbicide. Part of the sulfonylurea family, nicosulfuron controls weeds by foliar action, having minimal residual activity that can be observed on soils with low content of organic matter, sandy soils in very humid conditions. Kelvin Top is a systemic herbicide that is rapidly distributed in plants. This product blocks the biosynthesis of the enzyme acetolactate sinase (ALS), which is required in the synthesis of essential amino acids. The growth of weeds ceases within a short interval of application of only 6 hours. The activity begins in the young growth peaks, which change color to yellow, become chronotropic within a few days. The treated weeds become brownish, and their deaths occur after one or three weeks after application, depending on species and environmental conditions. Maize is tolerant to nicosulfuron because it is rapidly metabolised to a form that is not active on its own ALS. The best results are obtained when Kelvin Top is applied to active growth weeds, and adequate humidity is required to ensure an optimal level of activity.
Properties:
- Active substance: 40 g / liter nicosulfuron;
- Rapid absorption;
Nicosulfuron:
- An active substance with strong herbicidal action against monocotyledonous weeds that are hard to combat (especially rhizomes cost) under conditions of total selectivity to corn.
Product usage:
- Treated plants: Maize;
- Combat weeds: annual grass weeds: Setaria spp., Echinochloa crus-galli, Digitaria, Panicum spp., grain samulastra and others.
- Perennial grass weeds: Sorghum halepense from rhizomes, Agropyron repens;

Recommendations:
- Apply post-emergence when corn plants have 4-6 leaves, annual grass weeds are in the phase of 1-3 leaves to bite, perennial grasses are 10-15 cm, cost 15-20 cm, and dicotyledonous weeds either small (2 leaves).
