Product information
Basis FG, 60 g is a broad-spectrum systemic herbicide designed for the control of annual dicotyledonous and monocotyledonous weeds. It has low persistence in the soil, allowing for normal crop rotations, and employs two active substances for maximum efficiency against invading weed species.
Benefits:
- Features two active substances with selective action;
- Excellent control over annual weeds;
- Ideal for post-emergent weed control in corn crops;
- No soil remnants.
Action mode:
Basis FG is a herbicide for corn crops protection:
- The product is absorbed mainly through the leaves and translocated into the growth tissues of the plant, where it inhibits cell division;
- Growth in sensitive weeds is stopped within a few hours after application, and visible symptoms appear after several days, with weed death occurring after 2-3 weeks;
- Less sensitive weeds and those in a more advanced stage of development stop growing and no longer compete with the crop plants for water and nutrients.
Methods of application:
Applications are made post emergently to corn crops, up until the 2-5 leaf stage, with max. 2 applications per year.
For annual grass weeds, applications are made starting with the moment of weed sprouting up until the 1-3 leaf stage, and for annual dicotyledonous weeds starting from the moment of sprouting up until the 2-4 leaf stage.
For better control over weeds, an increase of the control spectrum, and increased residual effects in the soil, apply Basis FG together with a Terbuthylazine product, 0.8 kg per ha.
Recommended dose:
20 g Basis FG per ha + atrazine 1 kg per ha or 0.8 kg terbuthylazine per ha + Trend 0.1%.
Compatibility:
Compatible with most of the crop products available on the market.
Before mixing with other crop protection products, perform a small-scale compatibility test.
Recommendations:
In hot and humid conditions the activity of the herbicide is accelerated, while in conditions of low temperature and drought, herbicidal effects are delayed.
Basis is effective if the first rain occurs at least 4 hours after treatment. If it rains before 4 hours have passed, the effect may be diminished.
Do not use on other crops than corn.
Basis is selective for grain and silage corn. It will not be used on parent lines grown for seed production, popcorn and sweet corn.
It can be applied to all approved hybrids, but it is recommended to consult the supplier or seed producer.
In the case of organophosphorus insecticide treatments, a period of 14 days between treatments with Basis and the insecticide must elapse.
If nighttime temperatures fall below 10°C or are above 25°C on the day of the treatment, the date of the application will be postponed.
Mechanical cultivation is allowed after at least two weeks from the application of Basis.
Do not spray onto waterways and only apply to corn crops.
Avoid spray drift onto other nearby crops.
