All you have to do is make a small hole, removing the soil or turf above the canal. The system is a clamp tensioned through a spring. The trigger is a blade that, when touched by the card, jumps out of place, actuating the pliers.
One mistake is to use an insufficient number of traps. If there are four active tunnels - which are frequently raised - then use four anti-card traps. A mechanical trap is a much more efficient investment than electronic devices.
It is recommended to use gloves to prevent human odor on the traps.
