Product information
Vectobac WG is a biological, selective larvicide that acts by ingestion and is designed to combat mosquito larvae in a variety of habitats.
The versatile formulation allows a variety of uses for mosquito control. It can be applied directly or spraying with different types of equipment.
Vectobac WG can successfully be applied to areas populated by fish and other aquatic life as well as plants. It can also be used in areas occupied by people, pets, birds, or wildlife.
Target pest: Mosquitoes of Culicidae-Aedes spp, Ochlerotatus spp, Anopheles spp, and Culex spp.
Characteristics:
- Dry formulation: water-dispersible granules;
- Easy mix with water;
- The first bacterial larvicide evaluated for use in drinking water
- Effective indirect applications for mosquito control;
- Effective in nebulization applications for larval control;
- Rapid action on mosquito larvae (2-24 hours).
Advantages:
- Specific combat action on mosquitoes;
- Easy application through different types of equipment;
- Direct application or by the use of fogging equipment;
- Harmless to non-target organisms
- Fast visible results.
Area of usage: Water surface, septic tanks, sewers and collecting channels, irrigation ditches, reservoirs, storage tanks, and landfills for animal waste.
Vectobac WG can be applied to any water surface where mosquitoes multiply, or in areas known to be a habitat for mosquito larvae.
Application rates range from 0.125 - 1 kg/ha, depending on population density, larval stage, and water quality.
Vectobac WG should be dissolved in water and shaken thoroughly (manually or mechanically) before application. The volume of water varies between 2.5 and 1000 liters and is influenced by application equipment, target species, habitat, and the mode of application:
Spray: 2.5 - 100 liters / ha
Direct application: 5 - 30 liters / ha
Low doses (0.125 - 0.500 kg/ha) effectively combat larval populations from the first larval stage to the onset of the fourth stage of evolution in most conditions.
High doses (0.5 - 1 kg/ha) are used in the event of the following occurrences: large population densities, predominant larval stage 4, water with a high organic matter content, or when water is frequently changed.
Vectobac WG does not fight pupal stages or larvae in stage 4 of evolution that have begun emerging. The larvicide acts by ingestion, therefore best results are obtained when applied in the larval stages that are actively nourished. Vectobac WG acts within 24 hours of application.
DO NOT prepare more solutions than you can use within 48 hours.
