Peas Rondo, 250g (or garden pea) is a species that is widely cultivated as a vegetable crop. Garden peas are small, round, green-coloured legumes that are consumed immature and fresh in the pod or shelled and dried. Garden peas are a rich source of protein, fibre, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Cultivation:
- Rondo peas prefer cool, moist and well-drained soil with a pH between 6.0 and 7.0.
- Peas are a cool-weather crop and prefer temperatures between 10 and 24°C.
- Planting should take place when the soil temperature is above 4.5°C.
- Peas are traditionally planted in early spring or late fall, depending on the climate.
- Rondo peas should be planted 2.5 to 5 cm deep and 7.5 to 10 cm apart in rows that are spaced 45 to 61 cm apart.
