Cultivation:
- Peanuts require full sun and well-drained soil with a pH between 5.5 and 7.0.
- Spread the peanut seeds at a rate of 45 g per square metre at 3-5 cm depth.
- Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil.
- Water the soil until it is moist but not soggy.
- Keep the soil moist until seedlings emerge, usually within 7 to 14 days.
- Harvest the peanuts when the pods turn yellow and the leaves begin to die back.
Recommendation:
- Fertilise the plants when they reach 10 cm in height, using a 10-10-10 fertiliser at a rate of 1.7 g per square metre.
- Mulch the soil to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.
