Marjoram is an herb with a sweet, warm aroma and flavour. It has beautiful, small, white flowers that are delicate and dainty. Marjoram can be used in a variety of dishes, from stews and soups to sauces and dressings. It adds depth and warmth to any dish that it is added to. It can also be used as a garnish for a variety of dishes.

Cultivation:
Select a sunny spot in your garden that has well-draining soil.
Add a generous layer of compost to the soil and then dig it in to a depth of 15-20 cm.
Sow marjoram seeds about 2 cm deep and 15 cm apart.
Water the soil regularly to keep it moist until the seeds germinate.
Harvest the leaves as required when the plants are mature and dry them for future use.
Recommendation:
Fertilise the marjoram plants with a balanced fertiliser once a month during the growing season.
Thin the seedlings to 15 cm apart when they reach 5 cm tall.
Mulch the soil lightly with straw or grass clippings to help retain moisture.
