Lemongrass is a tall, perennial grass with long, slender stalks, with leaves that are a pale yellow-green colour. Its leaves and stems are often used in cooking and medicinal preparations, as well as for decorative purposes. Lemongrass has a strong, citrusy scent, and its flavour is strong but subtle. It is also said to have antiseptic and antifungal properties and can be used to repel insects. Lemongrass is an easy-to-grow plant and can be grown in either containers or in the ground.

- Perennial plant also known for its medicinal properties (reducing inflammation and providing relief from nausea and indigestion); 
- Grows up to 80-100 cm in height;
- Helps increase energy levels;
- Reduces inflammation in the body;
- Helps improve the immune system;
- Helps improve heart health;
- Anti-oxidizing properties.

Cultivation:
- Select a sunny, well-drained spot in your garden.
- Work the soil down to a depth of 25 cm, removing rocks and weeds.
- Mix 2.5 cm of compost into the soil.
- Plant lemon grass plants in a row, spacing them 30 cm apart.
- Mulch the soil around the plants to help retain moisture.
- Divide the plants every four years to promote new growth.

Water thoroughly after planting.
Keep the soil moist at all times.
Feed with a balanced fertiliser every two weeks during the growing season.
