Ginseng is a root with a long history of use in traditional Chinese medicine. It comes from eastern Asia and North America and has a distinctively gnarled shape. The active ingredients in ginseng can help to boost the immune system, reduce inflammation, and improve cognitive functions such as focus and concentration. Ginseng has a mild, earthy flavour and can be added to many dishes or consumed as a tea.

Cultivation:
Choose a location with well-drained soil and partial shade for your ginseng bed.
Dig a bed that is at least 1 metre deep and 0.5 metres wide.
Add an organic fertiliser to the soil and mix it in well.
Plant the ginseng seeds 0.5 metres apart and cover them with 0.5 cm of soil.
Mulch the bed with 2 cm of shredded leaves or compost.
Recommendation:
Water the bed with 10 liters of water every other day.
Fertilise the bed with an additional 5 liters of liquid fertiliser every two weeks.
Check the bed regularly for weeds and remove them as necessary.
