Product information

Eggplant Black de Barbentane is a French heirloom variety of eggplant. It is well known for its dark, glossy skin and sweet, tender flesh. This variety is one of the oldest eggplant varieties and has been cultivated in the Barbentane region of France since the 19th century. It has a long, slender shape, with a deep purple-black skin and creamy white flesh. It is best eaten when young but not yet mature, as it quickly becomes bitter and spongy when it matures. It is also a popular ingredient in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean dishes and can be stuffed, baked, or stewed.

- Supports a healthy digestive system and weight loss;
- Contains Vitamin A, C, iron, magnesium, potassium;
- Helps lower blood pressure;

Cultivation:
- Plant it in well-drained soil, at a depth of 10 cm, and spaced about 40 cm apart.

- The Eggplant Black de Barbentane can be harvested after about 75-80 days, when the fruits reach their full size.
