Caraway is a spice with a strong, earthy aroma, with a hint of citrus and anise. It is most commonly used to flavour bread, but it can be used in so many other dishes. Caraway has a sharp, warm flavour that adds depth to soups and stews, and it pairs well with cabbage, potatoes, and apples. It is a versatile spice that can be used in many different ways.

Cultivation:
Choose a sunny area of the garden with well-drained soil and prepare the soil by loosening and removing weeds.
Sow the caraway seeds 4-6 mm deep and 20 cm apart in rows spaced 30 cm apart.
Water the area lightly and keep the soil moist.
Thin the seedlings when they are 8-10 cm tall, leaving the strongest seedlings 30 cm apart.
Cover the area with mulch to conserve moisture and suppress weeds.
Water plants regularly during the growing season.
Harvest the seed heads when they are dry and brown, usually in late summer or early autumn.
Recommendation:
Add a general-purpose fertiliser and work it into the soil.
