Product information

Asparagus Hibrido F-2 UC-157 is a hybrid variety of asparagus that has an upright growth habit. The shoots are thick and tender, with a sweet, nutty flavour. It is resistant to many common diseases, including rust and fusarium, and is very tolerant of heat and drought. This variety is easy to grow and a great choice for the home gardener.

Benefits and General Info:
- Attractive, medium to dark green shoots with purple tips;
- High yield plant - great for commercial growers;
- Disease resistance and high quality plants;
- It produces an abundant harvest with an excellent shelf life;
- Early maturity allows for a longer harvest season;
- Low maintenance - ideal for novice growers.

Cultivation:
- Sow starts in February or March, transplanting the roots after one year.
- Perform harvesting by middle of may and start with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil with a pH of 6.5-7.5.
- Plant the Asparagus Hibrido F-2 UC-157 in the early spring (20 cm of soil depth and 20 cm between the plants);
- Add a 2 cm layer of compost or well-rotted manure to the trench and mix it into the soil.
- Cover the crowns with soil, leaving only the tips exposed.
- Water the plants regularly and deeply to keep the soil moist.
- Mulch with straw or leaves to conserve moisture and prevent weeds.
- Harvest them when they are 15-20 cm in length and have a diameter of 1 cm or greater.
- Cut the spears at ground level and discard the cuttings.
- Continue harvesting for 8-10 weeks until the spears become too small and woody to be worthwhile.

Recommendation:
Fertilise the plants with a high-nitrogen fertiliser after the ferns have grown to a height of 10 cm.

Please be sure to read, understand and follow the full Conditions, Disclaimer, and Directions for Use. Use the appropriate personal safety equipment when needed.
