The Artichoke Vert de Provence is a vegetable from the South of France. This variety of artichokes has a unique flavour, with a combination of earthiness and sweetness. The deep green leaves are relatively smooth and have a slight purple hue. Cultivation:
Prepare the soil with compost.
Plant the Artichoke Vert de Provence seeds in the hole, about 2 cm deep.
Water the seeds regularly, making sure to keep the soil moist but not soggy.
Harvest the artichokes when they are ready.
Recommendation:
- Do not water after harvesting to allow the plant to rest.
- Fertilise the plants with a granular fertiliser every 2-3 weeks.
- Thin the plants to a spacing of 45 cm apart when they reach 18 cm in height.
