Product information
Optimol 4 G is a specific and selective molluscicide, formulated as granules based on superior yeasts used as a food attractant in combination with a special surfactant that improves the absorption of the active substance in the intestines.
Treated plants: Asparagus, Beans, Broccoli, Butternut squash, Cabbages, Carrot, Cauliflower, Cucumber, Eggplant, Garlic, Grass, Leek, Lettuce, Melons, Onion, Parsley, Parsnip, Peas, Pepper, Potato, Radishes, Romanian peppers, Spinach, Strawberries, Tobacco, Tomatoes, Zucchini
The pests: Slugs, Snails
Mode of action: The mode of action is poisoning by ingestion, anesthesia and immobilization, dehydration by secretion of excess mucus. Optimol finally decomposes into CO2 and water, which makes it safe for the environment. Has a long period of action, has no restrictions on the break until harvest does not affect useful fauna (frames, carabids), and contains an easy-to-administer passerine repellent, having a higher production efficiency due to an optimal density of granules per unit surface.
How to use it: Apply manually or mechanically using fertilizers or airplanes, by administering it on the ground around the plants, in rows, and not on the plants. The operation can be repeated after rain because the maximum results are obtained in humid conditions. The time to apply the treatment is in the evening or at night when the snails show intense activity.
- Cereals: it is administered before sowing when the population is very large (it will be observed that the granules remain for 4-7 days until cultivation) or post-emergence when the attack seeds are visible.
- Potato: control is performed at different times. The best time is July / August when the foliage is rich and the soil is moist. Repeated applications lead to better results. Snails already installed in the tubers are harder to fight.
- Rapeseed: apply postemergence before the attack is amplified. Varieties with lower glucosinolate content are more susceptible to attack.
- Cabbage: apply immediately after sunrise to seedlings. For the other stages, it is applied when the snails are active.
- Beets: apply immediately after sunrise.
