Product information
Principal is a powdered selective herbicide for corn crops. It is used to control annual and perennial grass weeds, and broadleaf weeds. Based on 2 active substances, nicosulfuron and rimsulfuron it is well absorbed and rapidly distributed in the plant.
Benefits:
- quick effect
- crop rotation is not affected by the use of the herbicide
Action mode:
- Both active substances fight weeds by foliar action. After being absorbed through the leaves, the herbicide is translocated into the plant's growth tissues where it inhibits cell division.
- The first visible effect of the treatment occurs in only six hours after application and is seen by slowing down the growth of plants, followed after a few days by discoloration of the leaf veins. Finally, they wither and dry completely. The treatment completes its complete action within an interval of up to three weeks.
- Both active substances are rapidly metabolized in the corn plant. In conditions of low temperature or drought, the activity of the herbicide is lower and delayed.
- A minimum residual action can be observed on sandy soils with low content of organic matter, in conditions of optimal humidity.
Methods of application:
- This herbicide is applied in post-emergence treatments, when the corn reaches the growth stage of 2-8 leaves.
The best results are obtained on young weeds, which are in active growth. They are in the 2-4 leaf stage and in the case of perennial grasses, before reaching a height of 15-20 cm.
- When applied in fractions, the first treatment is applied when the grass weeds have sprouted and have a maximum of 2-3 leaves, and the second treatment is repeated depending on the emergence of new weeds, but before the corn exceeds 8 leaves formed.
- Optimal effectiveness in weed control is obtained in conditions of adequate humidity. In contrast, severe drought conditions manifested immediately after treatment can cause both significant damage to the main crop and poor weed control.
- The recommended dosage for a single post-emergence treatment for strong infestations with rhizomes smaller than 20 cm in height is 90 g / ha + 250 ml Trend.
- The recommended dosage for the first treatment for predominant infestation with annual grass weeds is 50 g / ha, and for the second treatment for infestation, if the weeds are less than 15 cm in height, the dosage will be 40 g / ha.
It is recommended to use a quantity of water, 200-400 l / ha.
Compatibility:
This product should not be used in combination with organophosphorus insecticides or bentazone herbicides.
Recommendation:
- The optimal time to cultivate is 7-14 days after the application of the herbicide, to allow the translocation of the product.
- If rain occurs 4 hours after treatment, the effectiveness of the product is not affected.
- After cold periods with temperatures below 10 ° C or after a long period of precipitation, wait a few days for the wax layer to recover. It is not recommended to apply at temperatures above 25 ° C.
- Crop rotation is not affected by the use of the herbicide. Any culture can be sown next spring.
- Crops such as rapeseed, mustard, beets, and vegetables are sensitive to this herbicide.
