Product information
Viper ON is a Corteva herbicide designed for rice protection. It is a post-emergence professional herbicide based on penoxsulam 16 g/l + triclopyr butotyl 120 g/l that acts differently than other products.
Benefits:
- very effective against weeds which are resistant to other modes of action such as ALS inhibitor herbicides
- slows down and inhibits weeds growth
- protects your rice crops and is economical on the long term
- versatile application, easy and safe to apply
- it can be applied in dry rice, wet or saturated soil or "at the water's edge" and in dry seeding rice
Action mode:
- Penoxsulam inhibits the enzyme acetolactate synthase (ALS) and prevents the biosynthesis of amino acids, while triclopyr inhibits plant growth.
- The product is absorbed mainly by the leaves and only partially by the roots and is translocated in the meristem tissues of the plants.
- Weed growth is slowed after a few hours, even if the first control symptoms appear 5-10 days after application and the final result is reached after 3-4 weeks.
Methods of application:
- Start applying from 2 leaves stage to the end of twinning of the rice crop. The timing of herbicide application is determined by the vegetative stage of the Echinochloa spp.
- To control Echinochloa crus-galli, apply from the phenological phase of 1 leaf to 1-2 brothers.
- To control Echinochloa spp., you can apply the herbicide from the phenological phase of 1 leaf, to 3-4 leaves, but always before twinning begins.
- To control Cyperaceae and other broadleaf weeds, use Viper ON from the 1-2 leaf to 4-5 leaf stage of weeds.
Compatibility:
- Viper ON is compatible with most other rice herbicides.
Recommendation:
- Use Viper ON as soon as the paddy has finished draining and water again immediately 1-2 days after herbicide application.
- Apply Viper ON on dry soil 1-2 days before watering.
- To make sure you benefit from the best selectivity do not treat the crop in stressed conditions such as drought or cold, after disease, pest attacks or nutritional deficiencies.
Please be sure to read, understand, and follow the full Conditions, Disclaimer, and Directions for Use. Use the appropriate personal safety equipment if required and when needed.
