Product information
AS 70 PU is a selective powdered herbicide used in pre-emergence and post-emergence treatments for potato and tomato crops. It is used to control many annual dicotyledonous and partially grassed weeds.
Benefits:
- the product is selective for potato and tomato crops
- it remains in the ground 3 months after application, during which time it acts on new weeds
- the weeds can dry out 2-5 days after the treatment
- the product does not leave phytotoxic residues for the following crops
Action Mode:
- The activity of the herbicide depends on the nature of the soil, the amount of organic matter contained in the soil and the climatic conditions.
- AS 70 PU forms a film on the ground surface, with contact and residual action. Weeds that emerge within 3 months are destroyed from the emergence phase. The product is absorbed both by the roots and by the leaves.
- Weeds can still grow on the treated soil, but they dry in 2 to 5 days.
- The herbicide decomposes in the soil and does not leave phytotoxic residues for the following crops. In order to obtain the maximum effect of the herbicide, after application it is recommended a light irrigation and not to mechanically intervene on the soil earlier than 7-14 days after application.
- AS 70 PU acts on weeds, by root absorption when applied pre-emergently. In the case of post-emergence treatments. it is absorbed through the leaves and roots.
- The activity of the product is intensified at a higher temperature. Thus on soils richer in clay and organic matter, the active substance is retained more in the soil and the dose must be increased.
Methods of application:
For potato crops: the herbicide is applied in pre-emergent treatment with a dosage of: 0.7-1.2 kg / ha. The dose may be increased if the soil has a higher content of clay or organic matter. Only one treatment should be applied.
Post-emergence treatment: the recommended dosage is 0.2-0.3 kg / ha. The product is applied when the weeds have 2-4 leaves, and the potato plant has a maximum height of 5 cm. It can be applied later, when it has a height of 10-15 cm, but only if the soil is rich in organic matter, over 4%.
Tomato crops: in pre-emergent treatments, apply the product before planting, in a dosage of 0.3 kg / ha, followed by a post-emergent treatment, with a dosage of 0.2 kh / ha.
- If the crop treated with AS 70 PU has been destroyed by abnormal factors, the potato or tomato crops can be replanted only 4 months after the application of the treatment.
- After harvesting the early potato treated with this herbicide, it is not advisable to plant green cabbage or other vegetables.
Autumn: wheat or barley can be sown only if 4 months have passed since the last treatment with AS 70 PU.
Compatibility:
The product can be mixed in the tank with Titus 25 WG (50-60 g / ha) especially in case of strong infestation with grass weeds. When using Titus, add Trend 90 surfactant in a 0.1% concentration to the spray solution.
Recommendation:
- Because some varieties may have a lower selectivity for AS 70 PU, when using this product for the first time in a particular variety, it is recommended that a selectivity test be performed before use on large areas.
- AS 70 PU will not be used on soils with organic matter content less than 0.5%, on sandy or clay soils because it could affect the main crop.
- Pre-emergence of the product on soils with an organic matter content higher than 10% may result in only partial weed control.
- Do not apply AS 70 PU to other cultures than the recommended ones.
- Do not apply AS 70 PU on surfaces where the herbicide may come in contact with tree roots.
- When used in post-emergence, do not treat seeded or transplanted tomatoes until they reach the 5-6 leaf stage.
