Ovi-Catch AGO Mosquito

Ovi-Catch is based on technology that has been developed and tested in research conducted at the laboratory of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Puerto Rico. Because of this, the trap has an extremely high efficiency and will remove mosquitoes without any problems from the area where it is used. Ovi Catch is the trade name for "Autocidal Gravid Ovitrap" which is a trap that has been designed to use mosquito breeding techniques against mosquitoes. Thus, mosquitoes are lured inside the trap to lay their eggs but are captured there.

Some of the most invasive mosquito species are known to prefer to breed in containers. This means that they look for containers to lay their eggs. Ovi-Catch uses this natural instinct to trap them on the glue boards inside. These not only manage mosquito populations, but also allow species monitoring for optimal treatments. Each female mosquito captured prevents up to 1000 mosquitoes from breeding in the future.

Each capsule contains:

- 19 litre container;
- Capture chamber;
- Glue plate;

As female mosquitoes seek cool, shady, wind-free and moist areas, the trap should ideally be positioned in the following areas:

- Around vegetation;
- Sheltered areas such as covered terraces,
- property corners;
- Anywhere near standing water.

How to use:

1. Fill the 19-litre container with 10 litres of water until it reaches just below the drain slot;
2. Add about a handful of organic matter, preferably hay, to the water;
3. Put the lid on the 19 litre container;
4. Place the sieve on the bottom of the trap;
5. Separate the glue plate pair. Install the glue plate inside the trap with the glue side facing inwards;
6. Screw on the chamber cover;
7. Position the capture chamber with the screwed lid on top, by screwing it on.
8. Place the trap in a cool, shaded, wind-free and wet area. For maximum effect, place several traps in different areas.
