Product information
Merlin Duo is a systemic herbicide used to control annual dicotyledonous and monocotyledonous weeds in corn crops. It is in the form of a concentrated suspension.
Benefits:
- Weeds are destroyed right after they emerge;
- The herbicide keeps the soil free of weeds for 6-8 weeks after application
- It is not a volatile product. This allows it to act in the long run;
- Terbutylazine, one of the active substances, belongs to the class of triazines, having a broad spectrum of control;
- Wide range of applications for a wide variety of weeds.
Action mode:
- Merlin Duo has a radical and systemic action on the plant. Thus, unwanted weeds are removed immediately after emergence.
The first sign that the product acts effectively is when the plant embryo turns white. Soon, it is followed by a rapid and complete weeds destruction.
- Merlin Duo is based on two component substances that act complementary:
Isoxaflutole is mobile in the surface layer of the soil where it is fixed by colloids. This is not a volatile or dandruff herbicide.
- Terbutylazine performs a complementary activity against weeds such as Polygonum species. At the same time, it strengthens the action of the herbicide on the grasses, having a broad spectrum of control.
- An exceptional feature of the product is its reactivation capacity, which allows it to be active again during the first rains that follow a precipitation free period. Thus, it has an effect even on weeds that can grow during this period.
Methods of application:
- Merlin Duo is an approved herbicide for the control of dicotyledonous and monocotyledonous annual weeds in maize cultivation. It is used both as pre-emergent treatment (2.25-2.5 l / ha) and post-emergent (1.8-2 l / ha).
- In the case of a pre-emergent treatment, it is carried out in the maize growth phase, when it already has 3-4 leaves, and the weeds are in the incipient growth phase (3 leaves).
- But regardless of the stage of use, if the soil has a low humus content or a low level of infestation, low doses will be used. On the other hand, if the spread of weeds is high and the soil is very fertile, higher doses will be used.
Type of application: Low pressure spray
Compatibility:
There are no compatibility indications or contraindications yet. But the Merlin duo can successfully replace other herbicides such as Adengo 465 SC.
Recommendation:
Recommended dose for pre-emergence treatment: 2.25-2.5 l / ha
Recommended dose for early post-emergence treatment 1.8-2 l / ha
