Product information
Clomate is a herbicide with systemic action, very effective in controlling annual dicotyledonous and monocotyledonous and weeds. Clomate is a novel microcapsule suspension formulation of clomazone. It is a residual herbicide for use in all varieties of oilseed rape, potatoes, combining pea (spring), vining pea, winter and spring field beans, and carrots for application to the soil prior to crop and weed emergence. Clomazone acts by blocking the synthesis of certain essential plant pigments, including those required for photosynthesis. Susceptible weeds absorb clomazone during germination and emerge with bleached or discoloured leaves and die shortly after emergence.
Benefits:
- Important compound for effective weed control in winter oilseed rape and spring crops
- Valuable contribution to anti-resistance weed management strategies
Action mode:
Clomazone acts by blocking the synthesis of certain essential plant pigments, including those required for photosynthesis. Susceptible weeds absorb clomazone during germination and emerge with bleached or discoloured leaves and die shortly after emergence.
Methods of application:
- Apply Clomate pre-emergently, at a maximum of 3 days after sowing, when the weeds are very underdeveloped.
- Only one treatment per season is applied.
Recommendation:
- Clomate does not produce phytotoxicity phenomena if it is applied in normal climatic conditions and according to the recommended doses.
- Before mixing with other herbicides, consult the compatibility tables or perform a compatibility test in their absence.
- Other specific restrictions: Do not treat two consecutive crops of carrots with any product
containing clomazone in one calendar year.
- Use the correct spray nozzles to maximise coverage.
- Apply only under appropriate weather conditions.
- Monitor herbicide performance and report any unexpected results to Albaugh Europe Sàrl.
