Product information
Modown 4 F, 5 litres is a film herbicide for the control of weeds found in sunflower crops. It is flexible in application, with contact action, as well as a lasting remnant effect that guarantees long-term protection of sunflower plants against invading weeds.
Benefits:
- Contact and residual herbicide;
- Long lasting and cost effective;
- Ideal for pre-emergent and post-emergent applications;
- Controls a large number of problem weeds;
- Efficient against annual dicotyledonous weeds and some species of monocotyledonous;
- Suspension concentrate formulation.
Action mode:
Modown 4 F is a herbicide for pre and post-emergent treatments of sunflower crops:
- Contains bifenox, an active substance with long-lasting contact and residual herbicidal action;
- When applied pre-emergent, the product forms a continuous film on the soil surface, eliminating emerging sensitive weeds;
- Due to the lack of any systemic activity, the product does not migrate to the underground propagation organs and perennial weeds generally recover after treatment. Monocotyledonous weeds are sensitive to the post-emergence application only when they are in very young stages, after which they are very difficult to control.
Methods of application:
The soil must be well crushed so that there are no lumps that interrupt the herbicidal film so that weeds that are not affected by the treatment manage to grow.
It is very important that after pre-emergent application, for at least 3-4 weeks, no machinery works the soil treated with Modown 4 F, so it does not break the herbicidal film on the soil.
Rain or irrigation 2 weeks after treatment increases the effectiveness of Modown 4 F.
The residual activity of the product depends on the temperature and insolation so that in conditions of high temperatures and stronger insolation the remanence of the product is maximized (3-4 weeks), and the herbicidal effects are more intense.
Dose:
Apply 1 to 1.5 l per ha for the control of annual dicotyledonous weeds in early postemergence.
Apply 1.5 to 2 l per ha for the control of annual dicotyledonous weeds and some monocotyledonous weeds in preemergence.
Crop | Weeds attacked | Application moment | Dose |
Sunflower | Annual dicotyledons | Early postemergence | 1-1.5 l/ha |
Annual dicotyledons and some monocotyledons | Preemergence | 1.5-2 l/ha |
Compatibility:
Compatible with most of the crop products available on the market.
Before mixing with other crop protection products, perform a small-scale compatibility test.
Not compatible with strong bases, strong acids, strong oxidizing agents.
Recommendations:
Treatments are not recommended if large differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures are forecast.
Treatments will not be carried out in windy conditions or 4 hours before rainfall.
Do not treat plants with wet leaves and do not work the soil after spraying with Modown 4F.
