Product information
Galigan 240 EC, 1 litre is a powerful herbicide with contact and residual action. It can be used both for pre-emergent and post-emergent applications to achieve crop protection against weeds, both dicotyledonous and monocotyledonous, that can affect crop development and yield.
Benefits:
- Delivers contact and lasting residual effects against weeds;
- Applications can be done both in pre-emergence and post-emergence;
- Wide range of weeds controlled by the herbicidal effects;
- Can be applied to many types of crops, including orchards.
Action mode:
Galigan 240 EC is a herbicidal product for use in a wide range of applications:
- Contains oxyfluorfen, an active substance from the diphenyl ethers group, with contact and long-lasting residual herbicidal action;
- When applied pre-emergently, the product forms a continuous film on the soil surface that is absorbed by the hypocotyl and causes the death of sensitive weeds(the soil must be well crushed). In ideal conditions, the protection period can last for up to 6 months;
- Post-emergent treatments mainly affect dicotyledonous plants with leaves close to the ground and less protected. Monocotyledonous weeds are affected during post-emergent applications only in very young phases of development.
Methods of application:
Sunflower:
Applied mainly during pre-emergence, after sowing the crop, and until the emergence of weeds.
Apply 1 l per ha.
Onion, garlic:
Applications are made in post-emergence.
Application of the treatment is done after sowing or transplanting when most weeds have appeared and the most developed ones are in the rosette phase.
Apply 1 l per ha.
Orchards and forest nurseries:
Applications are made pre-emergent, in early spring, such as to achieve long-term effectiveness.
In nurseries, the product can be applied to vegetation (even 2-3 treatments), using funnels or guards to prevent dissipation onto seedlings or trees.
Apply 3 to 4 l per ha.
Other crops:
Apply 5 l per ha.
Crop | Weeds attacked | Application moment | Dose |
Sunflower | Annual and perennial dicotyledons | Preemergence | 1 l/ha |
Onions sown directly, Garlic | Mono and annual dicotyledons | Postemergence | 1 l/ha |
Fruit plantations | Seed weeds, annual and perennial dicotyledons, annual monocotyledons | - | 5 l/ha |
Apple tree, pear tree, quince tree | Annual and perennial dicotyledons | Pre and postemergence | 5 l/ha |
Apple and plum nurseries | Dicotyledons and some annual monocotyledons | Preemergence | 4 l/ha |
Postemergence | 3 l/ha | ||
Forest nurseries | Dicotyledons and some annual monocotyledons | Preemergence | 3-4 l/ha |
Compatibility:
Compatible with most of the crop products available on the market.
Before mixing with other crop protection products, perform a small-scale compatibility test.
Recommendations:
It is very important that after pre-emergent application, for at least 2 weeks, no machinery is employed to work the treated soil, to avoid destruction of the herbicidal layer in the soil.
Rain or irrigation during 2 weeks after treatment increases the effectiveness of treatment with Galigan 240 EC.
Follow the label recommendations for each type of crop.
Please be sure to read, understand, and follow the full Conditions, Disclaimer, and Directions for Use. Use the appropriate personal safety equipment if required and when needed.
