Product information
Afalon 50 SC is a herbicide in the form of a concentrated suspension based on an active substance called linuron. It is administered as a pre-emergence treatment against most annual dicotyledonous and monocotyledonous weed species.
Benefits:
It is absorbed mainly through the leaves, but quickly reaches the roots and stops the growth of plants;
Weeds can be removed in less than 14 days;
It can withstand the ground for four months, during which time it is just as effective;
Action mode
- Afalon SC works by inhibiting seed germination. The product is absorbed mainly through the leaves, but quickly reaches the roots and stops the growth of plants. The weeds in question cease their activity and die within 8-14 days.
- Because it is a remnant product that can withstand the soil for up to 4 months, it combats both weeds that exist at the time of treatment and those that will emerge within a few weeks after treatment.
Methods of application:
For potatoes, Afalon 50 SC is applied pre-emergent, in normal volume of solution after planting, but before the potato emerges. It is usually used in a mixture with a pre-emergent graminicide.
For corn and sunflower, Afalon 50 SC is applied pre-emergent, after sowing and before the emergence of the crop and including weeds. It can also be associated with a pre-emergent graminicide.
Heavy rainfall after application of the product may cause some phytotoxicity effects on crops.
Compatibility
The product is compatible with the most used herbicides for approved crops, but before any mixing it is recommended to perform the compatibility test.
Recommendation
- Do not exceed 1.35 liters of product per 300 liters of spray solution;
- Ideally, the soil should be moist at application and there should be rainfall afterward;
- When applying pre-emergence, the soil must be smooth and very well crushed in order for the product to act.
- Do not apply on sands, swampy or turbid soils.
- Apply evenly over potato ridges and DO NOT spray in windy conditions to prevent patchy weed control and drift onto other crops;
- Where contact action is required, do not apply when the foliage is wet or when rain is imminent;
- Protect wildlife, fish, crustaceans, and the environment while using the product.
Please be sure to read, understand, and follow the full Conditions, Disclaimer, and Directions for Use. Use the appropriate personal safety equipment if required and when needed.
