Product information
Characteristics: It is a systemic herbicide, post-emergent, used in combating dicotyledonous weeds of sugar beet, wheat, maize, onion, rape, mustard, live fruit and forest nurseries. The active ingredient of the Lontrel 300 EC herbicide is clopyralid. Clopyralid is a pyridinecarboxylic acid that is absorbed into the leaves and roots, thus causing the growth of the plant to cease.
Lontrel belongs to Group 1 herbicides, together with 2,4 - D, MCPA, dicamba, picloram, triclopyr and fluroxypyr which are disruptive to the growth of plant cells. This unique mode of action makes the Lontrel 300 EC herbicide ideal for use in control strategies and resistance against broad-leaved weeds,
Mode of action: After the herbicide is applied it is absorbed very quickly and translocated throughout the plant, including at the root level, and accumulates in areas with increased metabolic activity. This translocation capacity makes Lontrel highly effective against perennial weeds with deep roots like thistles. The weeds targeted by this herbicide do not die immediately, but their growth is stopped.
Once translocated in all weed regions, clopyralid interrupts water absorption, nutrients and plant metabolism. The leaves dry out and lose their functional properties, and eventually the plant dies, including deep roots.
Treated plants: Rape, Beet, Vine, Onion, Spruce nurseries, Rachitaria, Wheat, Maize
Way of usage
In sugar beet, Lontrel 300 is applied when composite weeds, such as palm (Cirsium arvense), Susai (Sonchus arvensis), have a 10 to 15 cm rosette in doses of 0.3 - 0.5 l / ha in 2 treatments at 2 weeks interval (0.15 ± 0.15 / 0.25 ± 0.25).
In grainy cereals, the recommended dose is 0.3 - 0.5 l / ha and can be applied up to I internod. It can be associated with other products: 2.4D, MCPA, CERLIT, depending on the weed spectrum.
In corn, apply in the 4-6 leaf stage of the culture in doses of 0.3 - 0.5 l / ha. To expand the spectrum mix with 2.4D, MCPA.
In direct seeded onions, it is recommended to use Lontrel ™ 300 during active plant growth, at doses of 0.5 l / ha, after the appearance of 2 true leaves.
In the rapeseed, the recommended dose is 0.3-0.5 l / ha. Lontrel ™ 300 can be applied in the spring from the stage of 2-8 leaves of the rape (rosette phase) until the buds appear.
It can also be used in strawberry, after harvesting the crop, when the composite weeds regenerate in the dose of 0.4 l / ha.
The volume of water used to prepare the spray solution: 200-400 l / ha.
