Product information
Stonewall is a pre-emergent surface applied herbicide developed to act against certain annual grasses and broadleaf weeds. Stonewall is a member of the dinitroanilines group of herbicides. The product has the inhibitor of tubulin formation mode of action. The product is a Group D herbicide for weed resistance management. Some naturally occurring weed biotypes resistant to the product and other inhibitors of tubulin formation herbicides may exist through normal genetic variability in any weed population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the weed population if these herbicides are used repeatedly. These resistant weeds will not be controlled by this product or other Group D herbicides. Oryzalin which is the active ingredient in Stonewall acts by inhibiting the microtubule formation in cells of susceptible weeds which are an important part of the cell division process. As a result of restricted cell division, growth of the emerging weed seedling is prevented, eventuating in death due to lack of food reserves.

Recommendations:
Soil Preparation:
- Clean the treated areas of established weeds and remove or thoroughly mix trash (weed residue, prunings, etc) into the soil before applying the product;
Soil Activation:
- For high efficacy activation by rain or sprinkler irrigation (12.5 mm) is needed within 21 days of application. If moisture is not received within the period, incorporate the product into the top 2.5 cm of soil;
- Mix the required amount of Stonewall to a half-full spray tank and agitate well during completion of filling. Do not leave spray solutions to stand overnight;
- Use this product in 200 to 450 litres water per hectare and apply uniformly, especially within the dripline of trees and shrubs, so that application above label rates does not occur;
- Use a well calibrated low pressure (170 to 340 kPa) herbicide sprayer;
- Ensure good by-pass or other agitation of the spray suspension in the tank before and during application;
- Soil treated with this product may be shallow cultivated without loss of herbicidal activity.
