Product information
Meteor, 5 litres is a professional insecticide designed for the control of annual grasses that appear in certain situations. The product is selective and it reduces seed germination, it inhibits the mitosis and cell division in its mode of action. Its structure is based on a new molecule which comes with a fresh approach and a new mode of action. The herbicides which belong to the group K act as a growth inhibitor. The Metolachlor acts by blocking the synthesis of very long chained fatty acids (VLCFA’s). Herbicide uptake and subsequent weed kill occurs during or shortly after seedling germination as the weed seeds emerge within the treated herbicide zone.

Recommendations:
- The product is a short residual, pre-emergent herbicide for the control of certain important annual grasses in the situations nominated. The product acts mainly through shoot (coleoptile) absorption. Its effectiveness depends on the occurrence of rainfall or irrigation to move it down into the top 3 to 4 cm of soil, where it must be present at the time of weed germination;
- Add the required amount directly to the spray tank, fill with water and mix well;
- Ground application: Use a minimum 400 L/ha of water and a buffer zone of 10 metres between the downwind edge of the boom and the closest edge of the water bodies;
- DO NOT apply with aircraft.
PROTECTION OF CROPS, NATIVE AND OTHER NON-TARGET PLANTS
- DO NOT apply under weather conditions, or from spraying equipment, that may cause spray to drift onto nearby susceptible plants/crops, cropping lands or pastures
or waterbodies;
- Overspray or drift into sensitive habitats should be avoided.
